Early Life and Education

Volodymyr Dzenzersky was born on August 20, 1944, in the village of Kelmentsi, Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine. In 1965, he graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at Chernivtsi State University, specializing in metal physics.

Academic and Scientific Career

In 1975, Dzenzersky defended his PhD thesis on "Determination of the Composition of Metastable Phases of Binary Alloys Based on Lead." In 1998, he obtained his Doctor of Technical Sciences degree with his thesis on "Scientific and Technical Foundations for the Creation of High-Speed Ground Transportation Using Electrodynamic Levitation."

Dzenzersky's scientific work has focused on the development of autonomous chemical energy sources, specifically lead-acid batteries. He has published over 300 scientific papers and holds 49 copyright certificates and 91 patents from Ukraine and Russia. Over 50 of these patents relate to the design and production technologies of lead-acid batteries.

Industrial and Leadership Roles

Dzenzersky began his career in 1967 within the National Academy of Sciences, where he rose through the ranks to become Director of the Institute of Transport Systems and Technologies (ITST) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He established the ITST to lead research in transportation systems, with a focus on electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

As President of the International Scientific and Production Corporation "VESTA," Dzenzersky played a pivotal role in developing Ukraine's lead-acid battery industry. He led the design and construction of seven battery production plants in Ukraine and two in Russia without government funding.

Honors and Achievements

Dzenzersky's contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including:

- Hero of Ukraine

- Doctor of Technical Sciences (1998)
- Professor (1999)
- Academician of the Transport Academy of Ukraine
