Education and Early Career
Viktor Korol completed his studies with distinction at the historical faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1971. In 1976, he successfully defended his candidate dissertation titled "The CPSU as the Organizer of Creative Cooperation among the Intelligentsia of Ukraine and Fraternal Republics of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War (1943-1945)."
Work at Taras Shevchenko University
Since 1983, Viktor Korol has been working at Taras Shevchenko University in Kyiv. He started as an acting associate professor from 1983 to 1986, and later became an associate professor from 1986 to 1990. From 1990 to 1991, he held the position of professor at the Department of History of the Ukrainian SSR, and from 1992 onwards, he has been a professor at the Department of Modern History of Ukraine.
Doctoral Dissertation
In 1990, Viktor Korol successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled "Cooperation of the Peoples of the USSR in the Field of Science and Culture during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)." This dissertation further solidified his reputation as a respected historian and contributed to the understanding of the cultural and scientific collaborations during the war.
