Biography of Victor Munoz

Victor Munoz is a Spanish football player and coach. He played as a midfielder and is known for his performances with Zaragoza and Barcelona. He has also represented the national team, playing in 30 matches.

Early Career and Zaragoza

Munoz began his professional career as a youth player with Zaragoza. He played 126 matches for the club and established himself as a key player. In the 1981/82 season, he moved to Barcelona, one of the top teams in Spanish football.

Success with Barcelona

During his seven seasons with Barcelona, Munoz was a regular player and won several trophies, including the league championship, the Cup Winners' Cup, and the Copa del Rey twice.

Moving to Sampdoria and Return to Zaragoza

In 1988, Munoz transferred to Italian club Sampdoria, where he continued to have success, winning the Cup Winners' Cup and the Coppa Italia. He then returned to Zaragoza but only played in four matches. In 1991, he joined Scottish club St. Mirren to finish his playing career.

International Career

Munoz represented Spain in the Olympic team at the Moscow Olympics. He made his debut for the senior national team on March 25, 1981, in a match against England, scoring two goals.

Coaching Career

After retiring from playing, Munoz turned to coaching. He coached several well-known clubs in Spain, including Villarreal and Zaragoza, where he won the Copa del Rey. He also had coaching experience abroad, working with Greek club Panathinaikos.

Short Stint with Terek

In late December 2010, Munoz was appointed as the head coach of Russian club Terek Grozny. However, the agreement fell through in mid-January 2011, and the contract was not signed. Despite being involved in negotiations, Munoz never officially held any position with Terek.
