Early Career

Victor Karpenko, an Uzbekistani football player, began his professional career in 1997 with the Bukhara club. In 1999, he moved to Kyzylkum Zaravshan before transferring to the Russian club Shinnik Yaroslavl in 2000.

Loan to Lokomotiv Chita

Due to Shinnik's surplus of midfielders, Karpenko was loaned to Lokomotiv Chita in the first division in 2002. During his time there, he scored 14 goals, showcasing his attacking prowess.

Return to Shinnik and Success

Karpenko's impressive performance in Chita caught the attention of Shinnik coach Alexander Pobedgalov, who returned him to the team in December. Despite primarily playing as a midfielder, Karpenko became the club's top scorer in pre-season matches, excelling in the forward position.
