Early Life and Education
Victor Klem, born on January 18, 1987, in Debrecen, Hungary, grew up with his older brother in an affluent musical family. His grandfather had performed with an orchestra, and his brother played musical instruments. Victor began taking piano, bass guitar, and cello lessons from an early age. However, his passion for acting led him to pursue a career in the field, beginning with studies in high school. In 2005, he enrolled in the University of Theater and Film Arts in Budapest, graduating four years later with a degree in acting.
Theater Career
Klem's acting journey commenced on the stage in 2007, initially as a resident actor at the Radnóti Theatre. Subsequently, he became a freelance performer and appeared in numerous plays with various troupes. His repertoire included productions of "Decameron," "Pygmalion," "The Marriage of Figaro," and other classical and contemporary works. In 2015, he showcased his childhood musical skills in a one-man show titled "Kontrabass," where he played the upright bass. In 2018, Klem ventured into directing with his first play, "Eastern Madonna." He repeated this experience in 2021, directing the romantic musical "Boy," a tribute to his parents' long-lasting marriage.
Film and Television
Klem made his film debut in 2010 with a small role in "Apaches." However, it was not until 2017 that he landed a major part in the adventure-thriller "Bank Robber." The film, based on real events, narrates the story of Attila Ambrus (Bence Salai), nicknamed Whiskey, who robbed 27 Hungarian banks successfully. Klem portrayed Geza Bota, the protagonist's friend and accomplice. Ambrus himself briefly appeared in the film as a taxi driver. Klem continued to act in movies and television series, including the mystical thriller "Post Mortem." Released in 2020, the film follows photographer Tomas (Viktor Klem) as he encounters ghosts in a remote village ravaged by war and a flu pandemic.
Personal Life
Klem prefers to keep his personal life private but has acknowledged his close relationship with his parents, especially his mother, whom he considers his soulmate. He also maintains strong ties with other family members, including his brother, a father of three. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with loved ones, traveling, cooking, having fun, and taking leisurely walks. Klem embraces solitude and believes in the importance of introspection. Despite his playful nature, he recognizes that his humor may not always be appropriate, particularly on film sets.
Present and Future Endeavors
Klem remains active in both theater and film. He continues to tour Hungary with productions of "Kontrabass," "Boy," and other stage plays. In 2022, he starred in the Hungarian comedy television series "Nyuszko & Maczko" ("Rabbit and Monkey").
