Biography of Victoria Yastrebova

Victoria Yastrebova is an operatic soprano and soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre. She was born in Rostov-on-Don and graduated from the music faculty of the Taganrog Pedagogical Institute. In 2000, she furthered her education at the Rostov State Conservatory (Academy) named after S.V. Rachmaninoff, studying under the guidance of Professor M.N. Khudoverdova.

After completing her studies, Yastrebova became a soloist at the Rostov Music Theater, where she performed the roles of Violetta in "La Traviata" and Cio-Cio San in "Madama Butterfly". In 2002, she joined the Academy of Young Singers at the Mariinsky Theatre and since 2008, she has been a member of the Mariinsky Theatre's opera troupe.

Throughout her career, Yastrebova has received numerous accolades and recognition for her talent. She was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and was also a laureate of the International Vocalists Competition named after S. Moniuszko in Warsaw in 2004. Additionally, she was a laureate of the VI International Competition for Young Opera Singers named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov in St. Petersburg in the same year.

Yastrebova has performed a wide range of roles, including Maria in "Mazepa", Tatiana in "Eugene Onegin", Iolanta in "Iolanta", Queen Militrisa in "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", Corinna in "Journey to Reims", Amelia in "Simon Boccanegra" (concert performance), Elizabeth Valois in "Don Carlos", Nedda in "Pagliacci", Violetta in "La Traviata", Lauretta in "Gianni Schicchi", Micaela in "Carmen", Electra in "Idomeneo, King of Crete", Rosina in "The Marriage of Figaro", Donna Anna in "Don Giovanni", Freia in "Das Rheingold", and many more.

Yastrebova is also an active concert performer. She has toured with the Mariinsky Theatre troupe in Helsinki, Finland, and in 2006, she performed as a soprano in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in Rotterdam, conducted by Valery Gergiev.

In addition to her operatic and concert performances, Yastrebova regularly participates in concerts organized by the Academy of Young Singers at the Mariinsky Theatre. She has collaborated with Larisa Gergieva, performing in concerts in Geneva, London, Vienna, and Paris.

On September 3rd, 2006, Yastrebova took part in a charity requiem concert titled "Beslan... Two Years Later" in Vladikavkaz. She also performed the roles of Violetta in "La Traviata" and Tatiana in "Eugene Onegin" at the Theater of Opera and Ballet in Vladikavkaz.
