Vilmos Vanczák: Hungarian Football Defender
Born in Miskolc, Hungary, Vilmos Vanczák is a professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for Swiss club FC Sion and the Hungarian national team.
Early Career
Vanczák began his career at the age of 15 with his hometown club Diósgyőr. He then spent time with Vasas and Újpest before moving on loan to Újpest-Fót in 2002. He returned to Újpest in early 2003.
International Career
Vanczák made his debut for the Hungarian national team in November 2004. He scored his first international goal in a friendly match against Russia in March 2010, and added another in a Euro 2012 qualifying match against Moldova in September 2011.
Club Career
In 2006, Vanczák joined Belgian club Sint-Truiden on loan, spending one season there before returning to Újpest. He then moved to FC Sion in Switzerland in 2007, where he has played ever since. During his time with Sion, he has won the Swiss Cup twice, in 2008/09 and 2010/11.
