Early Career at Coton Sport

Born in Cameroon, Vincent Aboubakar began his footballing journey with Coton Sport's youth academy in 2006. His exceptional skills and determination quickly caught the attention of the first team, and in 2009, he earned a starting spot. Under his leadership, Coton Sport triumphed in the national championship, propelling Aboubakar into the limelight of European clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, AS Monaco, and RSC Anderlecht.

European Debut with Valenciennes

In 2010, Aboubakar decided to embark on a European adventure by signing with Valenciennes FC. Although not the most renowned club, Valenciennes provided him with an opportunity to showcase his abilities on a broader stage.

International Breakthrough with Cameroon

Aboubakar made his international debut for Cameroon in 2010 against Georgia. His impressive performance earned him a place in Paul Le Guen's squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where he made two appearances. At just 18 years old, Aboubakar was one of the youngest players at the tournament.

Scoring Debut and Ongoing Career

In an August 2010 friendly against Poland, Aboubakar notched his first goal for Cameroon. Since then, he has continued to excel at both club and international levels. At Valenciennes, he established himself as a prolific goalscorer, and his performances led to a move to Porto FC in 2014.

Aboubakar has played a pivotal role for Cameroon, captaining the team and guiding them to two Africa Cup of Nations titles. With his exceptional skills and unwavering determination, he remains one of the most formidable strikers in African football.
