Early LifeVincent Neil Wharton, known as Vince Neil, was born in 1961 in Hollywood, California. He was the son of Odie and Shirley Wharton. In 1980, Vince performed with his band 'Rock Candy' when the members of Mötley Crüe noticed the young vocalist and offered him a place in their group. Vince initially declined but ultimately agreed after the band made a second offer, particularly due to his friendship with guitarist Tommy Lee since their school days.

In 1981, Mötley Crüe released their debut album 'Too Fast for Love,' followed by their highly successful second album 'Shout at the Devil' in 1983. In 1987, the band's bassist nearly died from a drug overdose, leading to all members of Mötley Crüe undergoing drug treatment. Their 1989 album 'Dr. Feelgood' catapulted the band to fame, selling over 6 million copies in the United States alone.

Transition to Solo Career
In February 1992, Vince decided to leave Mötley Crüe and pursue his own musical interests. Having earned fame and fortune during his years with the band, he fulfilled his longstanding dream of getting involved in car racing. He even established his own racing team called 'Vince Neil Racing.' In the same year, he released his first solo single 'You're Invited (But Your Friend Can't Come).' A year later, he released his debut solo album 'Exposed,' which reached the 13th position on the charts.

In 1997, Vince accepted an invitation to rejoin Mötley Crüe. They subsequently recorded the album 'Generation Swine,' which reached the 4th position on the Billboard charts. However, the band never regained their previous level of success as Tommy Lee left the group, followed by the death of Randy Castillo, who replaced Tommy as the drummer.
Throughout his life, Vince Neil has been married four times. His first marriage was to Beth Lynn in 1981, which ended in divorce after less than 5 years. In 1997, he married Sharise Ruddell, followed by a marriage to Playboy model Heidi Mark, which lasted until 2003. His current wife is Lia Gerardini.
In 1995, Vince founded the 'Skylar Neil Memorial Fund' after his daughter Skylar passed away from cancer. The fund continues to sponsor golf tournaments and donates millions of dollars to help children with cancer and other incurable diseases. Vince has also had several legal troubles throughout his life, including a 1984 car accident where he was driving under the influence, resulting in the death of Nicholas Dingley, the drummer of 'Hanoi Rocks.' Vince was sentenced to 30 days in jail, 200 hours of community service, 5 years of probation, and had to pay 2.6 million dollars to the accident victims. More recently, in June 2010, he was arrested for drunk driving in Las Vegas but was released on bail.
Overall, Vince Neil's life has been marked by his success with Mötley Crüe, his solo career, his passion for car racing, and his philanthropic efforts to support children with cancer.
