Vincenzo Pincolini: Footballer, Coach, and Trainer
Early Life and Career as an AthleteVincenzo Pincolini was born in Fidenza, Parma, Italy. As a young man, he pursued a career in athletics, specializing in hurdling. In 1972, he became the Italian champion in the 400-meter hurdles and competed in international events.
Transition to Coaching and Joining Parma
Pincolini transitioned to coaching at a young age, joining the Italian national athletics team as a coach in 1978. In 1980, at the age of 26, he became part of the coaching staff at Parma FC.
Success with Arrigo Sacchi at Parma and Milan
In 1985, Arrigo Sacchi took over as manager of Parma. With Sacchi, Pincolini helped guide Parma to promotion to Serie B in one season. The team nearly earned promotion to Serie A the following season. In the 1986/87 Coppa Italia, Parma defeated AC Milan in three matches, including two away wins, leading to Milan management, headed by Silvio Berlusconi, to offer Sacchi and his staff positions at their club.
From 1987 to 1991, Pincolini worked alongside Sacchi at Milan, achieving remarkable success:

Continued Collaboration with Sacchi in the National Team
Following their success at Milan, Pincolini and Sacchi continued their collaboration with the Italian national team, assisting in the preparations for the 1994 World Cup and the 1996 European Championship.
Success with Fabio Capello at Milan
From the 1991/92 season, Pincolini was part of Fabio Capello's coaching staff at Milan. During this period, the club won the Serie A title five times (1991/92, 1992/93, 1993/94, 1995/96) and the 1993/94 UEFA Champions League.
Return to Parma and Work in Europe and Russia
After leaving Milan in 1997, Pincolini joined Arrigo Sacchi at Atletico Madrid (1998/99), Fabio Capello at Roma (1999/00), and Marcello Lippi at Inter Milan (2000/01). In 2001/02, he returned briefly to Milan before departing again. From 2004 to 2007, he worked at Parma once more.
Time at Dynamo Kyiv and Lokomotiv Moscow
In October 2007, Pincolini joined the coaching staff of Dynamo Kyiv. He assisted Yuri Semin, helping the club win the 2008/09 Ukrainian Premier League and reach the semi-finals of the 2008/09 UEFA Cup. After Semin left, Pincolini joined him at Lokomotiv Moscow (2009-2010).
Return to Dynamo Kyiv and Ukrainian National Team
In December 2010, Pincolini returned to Dynamo Kyiv with Semin and later remained with the club under new manager Oleh Blokhin until June 2013. He also assisted Blokhin with the Ukrainian national team from 2011 to 2012, including during the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament hosted by Ukraine.
Present Role
Since 2013, Pincolini has worked with the Italian Football Federation, overseeing the physical preparation of the youth and under-21 national teams.
