Childhood and Early Career
Marco Antonio Battistotti, known as Bacaro, was born in Brazil and holds dual Brazilian and Italian citizenship. He began his football career in Brazilian clubs before moving to Italy in 2002 to play for Lazio.
Italian Success
In Italy, Bacaro played for Lazio, Roma RCB, and Roma, winning the Italian national cup. In 2005, he joined Spanish club El Pozo Murcia, where he won all possible Spanish trophies. He then joined another Spanish club, Inter Movistar, where he won the UEFA Futsal Cup in the 2008-09 season.
Return to Italy
In 2010, Bacaro returned to Lazio in Italy. After acquiring Italian citizenship, he began playing for the Italy national futsal team.
International Glory
As a naturalized Brazilian, Bacaro became a key player for the Italian national team. He scored the only goal in the 2003 European Futsal Championship final against Ukraine, helping Italy win its first continental title. He also won a silver medal at the 2004 Futsal World Cup.
