Vitaliy Chirva - a young and talented singer
Vitaliy Chirva is a young and talented singer who is completely devoted to the art of music. Today, we present an exclusive interview with this wonderful artist.

Starting summer 2015
Vitaliy, how did your summer of 2015 begin? - With work! In just a couple of days, I will be flying to record new songs for my upcoming album 'Adventurer'. This year, I won't have the opportunity to relax by the seaside... If you want to achieve something in life, you have to work hard. And in my profession, you have to work while you still have the chance.

Standing apart from the show business
At first glance, you seem to be completely detached from the show business. Why don't you want to join aspiring artists who participate in various vocal competitions multiple times and approach producers? - You are right... I have no desire to do that. I don't like competitions and TV shows. I feel uncomfortable in them. But I don't rule out that it might happen... for the purpose of popularizing my work. As for producers... These people usually dictate their own rules: what to sing, what to wear, what to say, and so on. In the past, about five years ago, I probably wanted that. I wanted to be a popular artist. But now... It's not my goal. I write my own songs, work with musicians and arrangers to improve their sound. I want to achieve something on my own, to create something truly worthy.

His career on "Fabrika Zvezd"
A few years ago, your career started on "Fabrika Zvezd" under Konstantin Meladze. Why didn't it work out with the producer? - Firstly, I was very young, and I joined the show because I was interested in working with Meladze. And from our factory, Konstantin took only Santa and Eva Bushmina for VIA "Gra". And that was it... Apparently, he didn't need me. Although, I won't hide the fact that I really wanted to work with him back then. But everything happens for the best! Everyone has their own destiny!

Selecting musical material
Who chooses the musical material for your concert program nowadays? - I do. I can't say that I am 100% satisfied with the result, but I strive to improve.

Preference for lyrics or radio format
Do you prefer to perform more lyrical songs or those that are demanded by listeners and fit the radio format? - I recently thought about this, analyzed the work I have done in the last 5 years, and promised myself to never again try to do something just to fit into a certain format, etc. Because the result of those attempts were rather secondary songs - in my opinion, for which I am a little ashamed... As for the genre - whether it's lyrics or something else... It all depends on my mood and the songs that come to me from above.

The challenge of being an independent artist
Is it difficult for an independent artist to get airplay on the radio these days? - It is difficult. But maybe it's possible. I don't know. There are radio stations that find and play my songs, but there are not many of them. And usually, there are not many airings. Many want money, but I don't have it. You know... Up there, everything is decided. If it's meant to be, they will take it, and if not, they will never take it.

Consulting with fellow artists
Do you consult with fellow artists regarding certain steps in the show business? - Lately, no. I don't see the point in it. Everything is obvious.
Inspiration as a one-man orchestra
You write all your songs yourself. A one-man orchestra. What inspires you? - I can't answer that question. It's just a need, like air. During the writing process, I feel completely possessed and dependent. It's as if my hand is writing the lyrics on its own. And the music plays in my head...
The process of songwriting
How long does it take to write one song? - The writing process varies... It can take 15 minutes to a year or more. Working on the song and its arrangement is the next stage, which takes about a month. It depends on how it goes: sometimes everything is clear right away, and sometimes it's the exact opposite.
Writing songs for others
Have you tried writing songs for others to sell? Your melodies are so melodic that it seems your songs could suit many popular artists. - I have tried. I don't really like selling my songs, maybe I haven't reached that point yet. As for many artists... I don't know... I always find it difficult to imagine an artist for whom a song I have already written might be suitable. I have sold songs to two well-known artists in 2011 - Grigory Leps (he never sang it) and recently to Philipp Kirkorov. I hope he will sing it.
Collaborating with popular artists
Nowadays, it's a popular PR move to collaborate with popular artists. Have you ever thought about promoting yourself in this way? - This is my favorite phrase - 'PR move'. It's worth collaborating when you have the desire to do something interesting with a good artist, both for yourself and for the audience. But when it's just for the sake of it... The desire doesn't arise.
Reception during tours
You recently returned from a concert tour. How do cities receive you? It can be quite difficult to gather an audience when people in the city know little about you. - They receive me excellently! After the concerts, they even buy CDs and approach me with words of gratitude. They say, "We didn't even know you existed. Come again, we liked it!" That's pleasing! Because I realize that listening to unknown songs from an unknown artist for 1 hour and 45 minutes is not for the faint-hearted. I always feared that people would stand up and leave, but by God's grace, they are satisfied for now. Although, I believe there are also those who didn't like what I do. And that's absolutely normal. And as for gathering... I just have a good manager. It's better to ask her that question.
A dedicated fan club
We know that since "Fabrika Zvezd," you have a large fan club that closely follows your work. - It's not that big. But, indeed, there are people who follow my work, and their numbers increase every year. It means that my hard work is not in vain, and they truly need it. It's a very pleasant feeling - to realize that your songs are needed. And as an artist, you are interesting to someone.
Encore performances
How often are you called back for encores? - It happens periodically. I haven't counted.
Final thoughts
Thank you, Vitaliy, for taking the time for us. We wish you to be called back for encores as often as possible, and for radio stations and music channels to rotate your music videos in hot mode. - Thank you! And we wish you success and prosperity! And grateful readers. All the best!
