Biography of Vitaliy Kirichenko

Vitaliy Kirichenko is a Ukrainian public figure and a major general of the police force. He served in the Soviet Army from 1964 to 1967, after which he graduated from the Crimean State Pedagogical Institute in 1969.

From 1970 to 1981, Kirichenko served actively in the KGB. In the years 1981 to 1983, he worked as an advisor in the Eastern zone of Afghanistan. Following that, from 1985 to 1987, he served in the special operations group of the KGB called "Vympel".

In 1995, Kirichenko became the head of the Crimean police force. In 1996, he worked as an advisor to the Ukrainian Embassy in South Africa. He is also the co-chairman of the Ukrainian branch of the International Anti-Terrorist Association of Special Forces "Alpha". Additionally, he serves as an assistant for international relations to the rector of the Vernadsky Tavrichesky National University.
