Vladimir Andreichenko: A Life of Public Service
Early Life and EducationVladimir Andreichenko was born in Belarus and graduated from the Velikie Luki Agricultural Institute in 1977 and the Minsk Higher Party School in 1988.
Agricultural Career
Andreichenko's career began in 1968 as an agronomist at the "Pobeda Sotsializma" collective farm. After serving in the Soviet Army, he worked as a senior agronomist and later as a department head in the Liuzne district.
Political Career in Liuzne District
In 1975, Andreichenko became secretary of the party committee at the "Adaminki" sovkhoz. He then served as chairman of the "Danukalova" collective farm and held various leadership positions in the Liuzne district, including head of agriculture and chairman of the district executive committee.
Higher Political Positions
In 1990, Andreichenko became a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of Belarus. He later held senior positions in the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, including first deputy chairman and chairman of the agriculture and food committee.
Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
From November 1994 to October 2008, Andreichenko served as the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. He also represented the region in the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.
Speaker of the House of Representatives
In October 2008, Andreichenko was elected Chairman of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Belarusian parliament. He was re-elected in 2012 and 2016, serving in that role for three consecutive terms.
Awards and Recognition
Andreichenko has received numerous awards for his service, including the Order of the Fatherland (II and III degrees), the Order of Friendship (Russia), and the honorary title "Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus."
