Early Life and Training
Vladimir Burduli is a Georgian football player who began his soccer journey at a tender age, even before kindergarten. Despite his parents' initial reluctance, a local football coach who witnessed Burduli's skills in the backyard persuaded them to support his passion. His first mentor was Attila Vihra, a Hungarian who taught him the fundamentals of the sport.
Professional Career Beginnings
At the age of 15, Burduli joined Tbilisi's Dinamo second team, coached by Zubrab Maisuradze. A year later, he was promoted to the first team under the guidance of David Kipiani. At just 17 years old, he triumphed as the Georgian champion.
Stint at Kyiv's Dinamo and Injury Setback
Burduli then transferred to Kyiv's Dinamo after catching the eye of coach Alexei Mikhailichenko. However, his time there was cut short by a leg injury sustained during a training camp, which prohibited him from playing for six months. After recovering, he played briefly for both Tbilisi's Dinamo and Vladikavkaz's Alania.
Near English Premier League Experience and Return to Ukraine
Burduli's career took a potential turn when Manchester City expressed interest in signing him. However, his indecision led to the transfer window closing before a deal could be finalized, compelling him to return to Georgia. He subsequently joined Kryvbas in Ukraine, followed by Zarya. In 2008, he signed a two-year contract with Tavria.
Career with the National Team
Burduli made his debut for the Georgian national team at the age of 21, scoring a total of three goals for the squad, including a memorable strike against Ukraine in a friendly match in 2002.
Coaching Career and Personal Life
After retiring from playing in 2011, Burduli transitioned into coaching, leading Georgia's Sioni club. He has two sons, aged six and four.
