Vladimir Dergachev is a renowned Ukrainian geopolitician, geographer-economist, and professor.
Education and Career
Dergachev earned his degrees from Moscow State University, receiving his doctorate in geography in 1987. He has held positions at the Pacific Institute of Geography and the Institute of Market Problems and Economic-Ecological Research, where he has been working since 1976.
International Affiliations
Dergachev is a member of the International Federation of Journalists, the scientific committee of the journal Geopolitica, and the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. He is also the founder of the private Institute of Geopolitics.
Research and Publications
Dergachev is an expert in geopolitics, geoeconomics, geophilosophy, regionalistics, and globalization. His research has been published in over 600 scientific and analytical works, including 50 books. His articles have been featured in prominent international publications such as Izvestiya and The Literary Gazette.
Contributions to Geopolitics
Dergachev developed the geopolitical theory of "Large Multidimensional Spaces (Boundary Communicativity)." This theory forms the basis for his interdisciplinary textbooks that promote critical thinking.
Journalistic Endeavors
Since 2013, Dergachev has been the editor and author of the illustrated magazine "Landscapes of Life." His writings have focused on political and social issues related to Ukraine and its place in the global landscape.
