Biography of Vladimir Kozlov

Vladimir Kozlov is a director and screenwriter who was born in Minsk, Belarus. After completing high school, he studied at the Faculty of Radio Physics and Electronics at the Belarusian State University, but left after his second year to serve in the ranks of the Soviet Army.

Following his military service, Kozlov worked as an assistant director for 13 years at the Belarusfilm Studio, which was part of the Union of Artistic Films. He served as an assistant to Elem Klimov on the film "Come and See," which won the Grand Prix at the Moscow Film Festival in 1985.

In 1987, Kozlov attended courses for assistant and second directors at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). The following year, he completed his studies at the Historical Faculty of the Belarusian State University.

Since 1992, Kozlov has worked as an actor and director in theater troupes in the southwest of France. He has been directing and writing documentaries since 2002 and is a member of the French Society of Documentarists.

In his creative work, Vladimir Kozlov explores the theme of emigration, both external and internal, spiritual.
