Biography of Vladimir Megre

Vladimir Megre is a writer, entrepreneur, and New Age practitioner. He is best known for his series of books "The Ringing Cedars of Russia."

Early Life

Vladimir was born in the village of Kuznichi in the Gorodnyansky District of the Chernigov region of Ukrainian SSR. He spent most of his childhood with his grandmother, Efrosinya Verkhusha, who was a rural healer and introduced him to the world of mysticism. He also developed a close friendship with Father Feodorit, the abbot of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius.

Entrepreneurship and Career

In his teenage years, Vladimir began living independently. In 1974, he settled in Novosibirsk, where he worked as a photographer for Novosibirskoblphoto. During the Perestroika era, he focused on business and even became the president of the Interregional Association of Entrepreneurs of Siberia.

Personal Life and Expeditions

Around the same time, Vladimir got married and took on his wife's surname, Megre. Although the marriage ended in divorce, he decided to keep the surname. In the early 1990s, Vladimir pursued various means to make a living, including organizing river cruises and photography, and trading alcohol and souvenirs.

In 1994, he embarked on a commercial expedition along the Ob River, known as the "Merchant Caravan," aiming to establish economic ties with the regions of the Far North. During this expedition, Vladimir learned about the so-called "Ringing Cedar" and became determined to find it. His second expedition was dedicated to this search, and it was during this time that he met Anastasia, a Siberian hermit and clairvoyant. According to Vladimir, it was through her that he received spiritual guidance.

The Ringing Cedars Series

In 1996, Vladimir published the first book in his series, "Anastasia," followed by "The Ringing Cedars of Russia," "Space of Love," "Creation," "Who Are We?," "Family Book," "Energy of Life," "New Civilization," "Rites of Love," and "Anasta." These books were inspired by his encounters with Anastasia and were released between 1996 and 2010.

Later Career

In 1999, Vladimir established the Vladimir Foundation for Culture and Support of Creativity "Anastasia." He initially claimed that Anastasia, the protagonist of his series, was a real Siberian sorceress he had met during his search for the Ringing Cedar. However, he later admitted that Anastasia was a fictional character created solely for the commercial work.
