Early Life and Youth Career
Vladimir Stojković, a Serbian professional footballer, was born into a sporting family in Loznica, Serbia. His father was a football goalkeeper, and his mother participated in discus throw. Stojković began his football journey at his hometown club, later joining the youth ranks of Crvena Zvezda in 2000.
Rise through the Ranks
During his time at Crvena Zvezda, Stojković faced competition from established goalkeeper Vladimir Dišljenković. Despite limited appearances for the first team, he was given the opportunity to gain match experience on loan at Leotar in 2003.
Stint with Zemun
Upon returning to Crvena Zvezda, Stojković signed for top-flight Serbian club Zemun in 2004. He made his debut against his former team and impressed with a penalty save. As the season progressed, he established himself as the team's starting goalkeeper and helped Zemun to a 5th-place finish.
European Adventure
In 2006, Stojković joined French club Nantes, where he initially enjoyed success but eventually lost his starting place due to errors. He later moved to Vitesse on loan and then to Sporting CP in 2007. Injuries hindered his progress in Portugal, and he was subsequently loaned out to Getafe in 2009 and Wigan Athletic in 2010.
Return to Serbia with Partizan
On loan to Partizan in 2010, Stojković faced backlash from his former club's fans. During an international friendly against Italy, Red Star fans injured him, leading to the cancellation of the match.
International Career
Stojković has represented the Serbian national team on several occasions. He debuted in 2006 and became the first-choice goalkeeper in 2010.
