Childhood and Early Career

Born into a family with a rich footballing heritage, Roman Savchenko began his journey at the tender age of six. He honed his skills at the DYuSSh "Torpedo" (Zaporizhzhia) and SDiuShOR "Metallurg" (Zaporizhzhia) academies under the watchful eyes of coach Alexei Koretsky.

Development at FC Metallurg Zaporizhzhia

As Savchenko progressed through the youth ranks, he caught the attention of legendary coaches Anatolii Vasylieha and Mykola Razdobudko. Under their guidance, he refined his goalkeeping abilities and made his debut for the reserve team, "Metallurg-2", as well as the youth squad.

Professional Debut and National Team Recognition

On October 19, 2008, Savchenko made his long-awaited first-team appearance for FC Metallurg Zaporizhzhia in an away match against FC Vorskla Poltava, ending in a 1-1 draw. His impressive performances earned him call-ups to both the Ukrainian youth and under-21 national teams.

Current Club and Future Prospects

In recent years, Savchenko has been a steadfast member of the amateur club "Tavria-Skif" (Rozdol). He continues to showcase his exceptional goalkeeping prowess while balancing his football career with his professional life.
