Vojtěch Mozik: Czech Ice Hockey Defenceman
Early Career and Czech ExtraligaVojtěch Mozik, a Czech ice hockey defenceman, was born on December 26, 1992, in Prague, Czech Republic. He developed his skills at HC Mladá Boleslav, where he played in junior competitions. During the 2011/12 season, he made his debut in the Czech Extraliga with Mladá Boleslav, which was relegated at the end of the season.
Transition to Plzeň and NHL Debut
In the following season, Mozik began playing for HC Škoda Plzeň in the Czech second division. After three seasons with Plzeň, he became a free agent at the end of the 2014/15 campaign. On June 16, 2015, Mozik signed an entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL).
He played seven games for the Devils in the NHL without recording any points. He also spent time with the Albany Devils in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he registered two goals and 17 assists in 64 games.
Return to AHL and KHL Debut
In the 2016/17 season, Mozik played exclusively for Albany in the AHL, scoring 11 goals and assisting on 11 others in 69 games. In 2017, he joined the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) team HC Vityaz Podolsk. He participated in the KHL All-Star Game in 2018.
International Career
Mozik represented the Czech Republic at the 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He made his senior international debut on the European Hockey Tour in 2014 and competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
