Biography of Vrezh Kirakosyan
Early LifeVrezh Kirakosyan, a renowned singer and artist, was born in the Armenian village of Katnakhpyur in 1983. His name, meaning "revenge," reflects the turbulent history of his homeland. Raised in a family known for their musical prowess, Kirakosyan's grandfather and father both possessed exceptional singing voices. However, they did not consider music a viable profession for a man and encouraged him to pursue a more traditional career path.
Kirakosyan excelled academically and graduated with honors from the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University. Despite his legal education, he continued to nurture his passion for music in his spare time.
Musical Journey
A life-changing event occurred when Kirakosyan's sister witnessed him performing a song by Luciano Pavarotti. Impressed by his talent, she urged him to participate in a vocal competition on Armenian television. This competition became a pivotal moment in his musical journey.
The Voice of Armenia
In 2019, Kirakosyan auditioned for the 8th season of "The Voice of Armenia," capturing the attention of the audience and judges alike. Despite his visually striking resemblance to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Kirakosyan stood out for his exceptional singing abilities and determination to succeed.
Kirakosyan's rendition of Miserere, a religious motet, resonated with the judges. At the last moment, renowned producer Konstantin Meladze turned his chair, signaling his approval of the singer's talent and artistry.
Team Meladze
Kirakosyan's journey on "The Voice" continued as he joined Meladze's team. In the subsequent stage of the competition, Meladze paired him with Natalia Sidortseva, forming a compelling duo. Their performance of "Shallow" from "A Star Is Born" garnered praise from the judges.
Post-"The Voice"
Although Kirakosyan did not emerge as the ultimate winner of "The Voice," his participation in the competition had a profound impact on his life. He expressed his gratitude to Meladze and acknowledged the significance of the experience in shaping his musical journey.
