Early Life and Family
Vukašin Brajić was born in 1984 in Sanski Most, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the first child of Sima and Dušanka Brajić, with two younger siblings, Nenad and Nevena. Despite being initially introduced to music as a child, he was unable to pursue formal training due to the ongoing war in his home country.
Forced Migration and Musical Beginnings
In 1995, Brajić's family was forced to flee Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the war. They settled in Serbia, first in Mali Požarevac and later in Čačak, where they currently reside. Despite the lack of structured music education, Brajić began teaching himself guitar and keyboards using books and the internet. His love for music led him to join a choir, dance club, and literary youth theater group.
Higher Education and Band Formation
At 19, Brajić moved to Negotin to pursue his passion for the performing arts at the Pedagogical Institute. He discovered a love for working with children, envisioning them as his audience and classrooms as stages. While studying, he collaborated with a local band guitarist, honing his guitar skills. In 2003, he joined forces with Darko Nikodijević and Nemanja Anđelković to form the band Affect, contributing vocals and guitar playing.
The Affect Era
Affect released several singles and performed live in various venues in Belgrade. However, due to varying aspirations within the band, Affect went on hiatus in 2007. Nikodijević and Anđelković continued to work with Brajić on future projects.
Reality Show Fame
Brajić gained national recognition in 2008 as a contestant on the reality singing competition Operacija Trijumf, representing Bosnia and Herzegovina. He finished second and went on to represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest and the Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk.
Solo Career
Following his success on Operacija Trijumf, Brajić pursued a solo career, performing as a vocalist and guitarist in the acoustic duo Lucky Luke with Marko Marić. He released several singles and toured extensively throughout the region before embarking on a hiatus to focus on his personal life and family.
