Early Life and Playing Career
Vячеслав Грозный, born in the heart of Ukraine, embarked on his journey as a footballer at a young age. Hailing from the historic city of Kamyanets-Podilskyi, he honed his skills at local clubs such as "Podillya" and "Nivva" Berezhany.
Coaching Beginnings
Upon graduating from the Lviv Pedagogical Institute and completing the Republican Coaching Courses, Grozny ventured into the realm of coaching. His academic prowess and footballing acumen soon caught the attention of prominent figures in the Ukrainian football scene.
In 1987, Grozny accepted an offer to join the coaching staff of FC Torpedo Zaporizhzhia under the guidance of Alexander Gurzhiev. Subsequently, he assumed a similar position at FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, guided by Alexander Tomakh.
Breakthrough with FC Spartak
A chance encounter with legendary coach Oleg Romantsev, then manager of FC Spartak Ordzhonikidze, proved pivotal in Grozny's career. Following a successful stint at FC Nivva Vinnytsia, he joined Romantsev's coaching team at FC Spartak Moscow.
Years of Success
Under Romantsev's tutelage, Grozny played an integral role in Spartak's remarkable achievements. The team emerged as the dominant force in Russian football, securing five league titles during his tenure as assistant coach.
International Acclaim
Grozny's reputation extended beyond Russia's borders. He guided FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk to the Ukrainian Cup final in 1997 and enjoyed a successful spell as manager of PFC Levski Sofia in Bulgaria. He was recognized as the Best Coach in Ukraine (1996 and 2002) and Bulgaria (1998).
Return to Ukraine
In 2001, Grozny returned to his Ukrainian roots to take charge of FC Arsenal Kyiv. He embarked on a challenging mission to rebuild the club from scratch, attracting talented players and instilling a winning mentality.
Mentorship and Discovery
Throughout his coaching career, Grozny has been widely lauded for his ability to nurture young talent. His keen eye for spotting future stars has resulted in the discovery of several prominent Ukrainian footballers, including Oleg Gusev, Oleksandr Kosovsky, and Roman Nagornyak.

As manager of FC Arsenal Kyiv, Grozny faces the ongoing challenge of transforming the club into a major force in Ukrainian football. Despite financial constraints and limited infrastructure, he remains committed to his goal of guiding the team to domestic and European success.
