Ruslan Krendelev
Ruslan Krendelev is a Turkmen and Russian footballer who plays as a midfielder. He has represented the Turkmenistan national team and holds the title of Master of Sports of Russia.
Early Life and Youth Career
Krendelev was born in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on March 18, 1981. He began his football journey at the age of 5, inspired by his father, who played briefly for the local club "Kopetdag." His mother is an electrical engineer. His parents currently reside in Turkmenistan. Krendelev is married, having tied the knot in March 2009.
Club Career
Krendelev's club career took off in his hometown, Ashgabat, where he played for "Galkan." Simultaneously, he fulfilled his military service in the elite internal troops unit that protected President Saparmurat Niyazov. In 2003, he switched to "Nisa" before joining "Taraz" in Kazakhstan in 2004.
In 2006, Krendelev moved to "Terek" in Grozny, helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League by finishing second in the First Division in 2007. He then moved to "Amkar" but never made an appearance for the Permian club. In March 2009, he was loaned to "Metallurg" Lipetsk for a year.
After several stints at various clubs, Krendelev returned to "Luch-Energia" in July 2013. In February 2015, he suffered a severe injury that sidelined him for six months. Despite the setback, he renewed his contract with the club in June 2015.
International Career
Krendelev received his first call-up to the Turkmenistan national team in 2004. He played in the main tournament of the AFC Asian Cup 2004. In August 2008, he scored his first goal for the national team against Afghanistan in the AFC Challenge Cup. He netted his second goal in a World Cup 2014 qualifying match against Indonesia in 2011.
