Early Life and Education

Born in Lithuania, the aspiring filmmaker initially pursued architecture and art. He graduated from the Vilnius Art Institute (now Vilnius Academy of Arts) in 1955.

Entry into Film

Before embarking on his cinematic career, he worked as a designer for the 1959 film "Julius Janonis." His directorial debut came with "The Last Shot," which he released in 1960.

Over the course of his career, the director created numerous acclaimed films, including:

Legacy
