Early Life and Spiritual Quest
Born in Austria, Eidlitz initially pursued a literary career. However, his interest in Hinduism led him to leave his family in 1938 and embark on a spiritual journey to India.
World War II and Imprisonment
During World War II, Eidlitz was interned in a British prisoner-of-war camp in India. There, he met Sadananda Swami, the disciple of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati, who had become the first Westerner to embrace Gaudiya Vaishnavism.
Spiritual Initiation and Mission
After the war, Eidlitz received spiritual initiation from Bhakti Hridaya Bona Swami, a prominent Vaishnava guru. In 1952, he returned to Europe and settled in Sweden, where he dedicated himself to spreading Krishna consciousness.
