Van Fukuan, a Chinese man, has achieved a highly unusual record in the Guinness World Records book - he managed to thread a needle through the eye of 44 sewing needles in one minute, using a blind method. Fukuan's record is not only impressive due to its speed, but also its unique concept. Who would have thought of threading a needle through its eye, let alone doing it blindfolded? It turns out that not only did someone think of it, but it also became a world record.

Achieving the Record

The record was officially recognized in Rome, Italy, at the Guinness World Records show in March 2009. But how exactly does Van Fukuan thread a needle through his sewing needles? Naturally, he does not use the traditional method of one needle and one thread, nor does he use his fingers or eyes. Fukuan has developed his own method.

He positioned the needles on a wooden board, about a meter long, resembling a long comb with needles instead of teeth. He inserted the needles in such a way that their eyes were aligned on a single line, with approximately one centimeter between each needle. With a long red thread in his mouth, Fukuan pressed his lips against the first needle and quickly moved the wooden board along his lips. His concentration was evident in his focused expression.

Moving along the row of needles, Fukuan paused every ten centimeters to quickly assess his progress. It is worth mentioning that the thread did not go through every needle's eye, but the success rate exceeded expectations, and the red thread confidently passed through most of the needles. After one minute, a proud Fukuan handed his improvised tool to the hosts, who counted with genuine astonishment that the thread had gone through the eyes of 44 needles.
