Wayne Brady is an American comedian, singer, television personality, and Emmy Award winner. He is best known for his role on the TV show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" on ABC and for hosting the daytime show "The Wayne Brady Show". Currently, he hosts "Forget the Lyrics!" on Fox.

Early Life and Career

Wayne Alphonso Brady was born on June 2, 1972, in Orlando, Florida, USA. He graduated from Dr. Phillips High School in 1989. At the age of 16, he started his career as a self-taught theater artist, while also playing the character Tigger for Walt Disney World. He then performed at the SAK Comedy Lab in Florida. After relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, and finally settling in Los Angeles, California in 1996, Wayne began honing his skills.

Rise to Fame

In the show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" alongside Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles, and Colin Mochrie, Wayne amazed audiences with his incredible singing, acting abilities, athleticism, and sense of humor. In 2001, he had an unsuccessful venture with his own variety show, "The Wayne Brady Show". However, in 2002, his talk show with the same name won four Primetime Emmy Awards, two of which were awarded to Brady as Outstanding Talk Show Host.

Television and Film Career

Wayne Brady appeared as a guest star in the series "The Drew Carey Show" in 1999 and 2000, playing in the episodes "Drew Live" and "Drew Live II". He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program in 2003. In 2004, Brady joined the Broadway production of "Chicago" playing the role of lawyer Billy Flynn. He also made appearances in the final episode of the comedy series "Reno 911!" in 2004 and guest-starred in the series "Stargate SG-1" as Trelak, the main henchman of Ares.

Charity Work and Recent Projects

Brady wrote and performed a song for the popular Disney animated series "The Weekenders". In 2005, he recorded a cover version of Jim Brickman's song "Beautiful" and its Christmas version. In 2006, Brady hosted a TV show discussing the role of African Americans in the entertainment industry. He also hosted "Celebrity Duets" on Fox and made guest appearances in various TV shows.
