William Coen
William Coen is an American economist and financier who has served as the 10th President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York since January 27, 2009.
Early Life and Education
Coen graduated from New College of Florida in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982, where he studied macroeconomics under George Akerlof.
Career
After completing his studies, Coen worked as an economist in the financial research department of the Federal Reserve Board from 1981 to 1983. He subsequently transitioned to the private sector.
Concurrently with his business pursuits, Coen served as a member of the Technical Consultants Group to the Congressional Budget Office from 1999 to 2005.
Federal Reserve Presidency
In 2009, Coen was appointed as the 10th President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the bank's financial operations and providing economic guidance.
