In 1960, Wuttke joined the iconic 1. FC Köln, where he would spend the next 16 years of his career. Known for his exceptional defensive skills, he quickly established himself as a key player for the club.

During his illustrious tenure at Köln, Wuttke made 356 appearances, scoring 21 goals. He was an integral part of the team's success, helping them secure three Bundesliga titles (1962, 1964, 1978) and two DFB-Pokal trophies (1968, 1977).
International Recognition
Wuttke also earned 51 caps for the West German national team. His most memorable moment came in the 1966 FIFA World Cup Final against England. With just minutes remaining and Germany trailing 2-1, Wuttke scored a stunning equalizer, sending the match into extra time.
