Early Life and Football Beginnings
Aristide Bancé was born in Ivory Coast, where his parents temporarily resided. The family later returned to Burkina Faso, where Bancé's passion for football emerged at the age of 15. His father enrolled him in a local club, and he quickly honed his skills.
European Success
Bancé played for several clubs in Burkina Faso before attracting the attention of European scouts. In 2003, he joined Belgian side Lokeren, where he impressed with 15 goals in 28 games in his final season. He scored a total of 27 goals in 77 appearances for Lokeren.
Move to Ukraine and Beyond
In 2006, Bancé transferred to Metalurh Donetsk in Ukraine, signing a four-year contract. He debuted with a goal in a friendly against Metalist Kharkiv and scored twice in 12 league appearances. In 2007 and 2008, he had loan spells at Germinal Beerschot (Belgium) and Kickers Offenbach (Germany) respectively.
Bundesliga Breakthrough
In 2008, Bancé was sold to Bundesliga club Mainz 05. He had a brief stint with the German team before moving on to clubs in Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and France.
International Career
Bancé has represented Burkina Faso at international level since 2003. He has played in several major tournaments, including the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. According to the official website of Metalurh Donetsk, he has scored six goals for his country in 21 appearances.
