Early Life and Education
Iosif Agránov was born on in the family of a grocer in the Russian Empire. His artistic career began with his graduation from the art department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in 1943.
Career in Film
Agránov began working as a production designer at the Alexander Dovzhenko Film Studios in 1951. His filmography includes numerous notable works, such as "Cherevichki" (1944), "Zemlya" (1954), "Pavel Korchagin" (1956), "In the Dead Loop" (1962), and the three-part epic "Дума о Ковпаке" (1973-1976).
Theatrical Work
In addition to his film career, Agránov also worked as a production designer for stage productions. In 1975, he joined the Zaporozhye Musical Drama Theater.
Honors and Recognition
Agránov received the title of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR in 1980. He participated in exhibitions both in the USSR and abroad.
