Xatar: The Notorious Gangsta Rapper

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Xatar, born Giwar Hajabi, is a 28-year-old Iraqi-Kurdish rapper who gained international notoriety for his alleged involvement in a daring heist. Hailing from the Turkish city of Sine, his family later settled in Bonn, Germany.

Despite his father's insistence that he pursue a career in classical music, Xatar's passion lay elsewhere. He became a proficient pianist and attempted to form a band, but circumstances intervened.

Criminal Activity and Exile

In addition to music, Xatar's towering physique and formidable reputation earned him attention in the underworld. Accused of drug trafficking, he was forced to flee Germany and sought refuge in London. However, his arrest warrant was eventually overturned after his lawyer successfully argued against the evidence.

Debut Album and Boxing Prowess

Returning to Bonn in 2007, Xatar established his own record label, "Alles Oder Nix," and released his debut album to critical acclaim. His lyrics captured the harsh realities of immigrant communities, glorifying the street code and gangsta culture.

Simultaneously, Xatar indulged in his other passion: boxing. His skills in the ring led to an arrest in Los Angeles in 2009, where he was charged with assault for breaking a woman's nose at the Playboy Mansion.

The Jewelry Heist and International Manhunt

Xatar's criminal exploits reached a new level in December 2009. Along with five accomplices, he orchestrated a meticulously planned jewelry heist near Ludwigsburg. Impersonating police officers and customs agents, they seized a van containing 1.8 million euros worth of gold and gems.

Police believed Xatar was the mastermind behind the operation, which bore striking similarities to a scene in his music video for "Alles Oder Nix Snipped." As the authorities launched a massive investigation, Xatar fled Germany.

International Hideout: Moscow

Two of the alleged heist participants were eventually arrested, while the remaining four, including Xatar, escaped overseas. Despite speculation that he was hiding in Eastern Europe or Belgium, Xatar's announcement on Facebook in February 2010 shocked the world: he was in Moscow.

In his post, Xatar complained about Moscow's high prices and marveled at the abundance of luxury cars. His naivety and surprise revealed a stark contrast to his tough-guy persona as a gangsta rapper and alleged heist mastermind.
