Xavier Dolan is a Canadian actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on March 20, 1989, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Dolan made his debut at a very young age, appearing in commercials for a pharmaceutical company. He then went on to act in films and TV series as a child actor.

In 2006, Dolan starred in the short film "Mirror Mirror" directed by Étienne Desrosiers, which won the "Berlinale" award. In 2007, he appeared in "Martyrs" directed by Pascal Laugier.

Dolan gained international recognition after his directorial debut in the film "I Killed My Mother" in 2009. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won three nominations in the Director's Fortnight program. It was also Canada's submission for the Academy Awards. In the same year, Dolan directed the film "Heartbeats," which won the "Prix Regard Jeune" at the Cannes Film Festival and the Sydney Film Festival Award.

Dolan's third film, "Laurence Anyways," explores the theme of transgender individuals. The script has already been written, and filming is set to begin in the summer of 2011. The premiere is scheduled for 2012.
