Boris Babochkin

Early Life and Theatrical Career

Boris Babochkin was born into a theatrical family in Tashkent, Central Asia. From 1911, he began his acting career at the Literary and Musical Society of Tashkent. Before the Russian Revolution, he performed on stage in Tashkent and Irkutsk.

Transition to Cinematography

In 1923, Babochkin made his foray into the film industry. He subsequently moved to Moscow in the mid-1920s to pursue his acting career in theaters.

Directing and Return to Film

From 1937 to 1939, Babochkin served as a director for the Drama Theater in Noginsk. After a hiatus, he returned to cinema in the late 1950s.
