Influence of Eugène Isabey
In 1846, Jongkind traveled to Paris and became a student of Eugène Isabey. This transformative experience exposed him to the vibrant Parisian art scene and influenced the development of his own style.
Return to the Netherlands and Parisian Sojourns
After a successful period in Paris, Jongkind returned to the Netherlands in 1855 due to illness. He resided near Rotterdam for some time before returning to Paris. Ultimately, he settled in Côte-Saint-André, near Grenoble, in his later years.
Early Landscapes and the Influence of Winter
