Early Life and Career
Natallia Mikhnevichwas born in Minsk, Belarus on October 18, 1975. She began her athletics career as a shot putter, and quickly rose to prominence in the sport.
Olympic Gold and World Title
In 2000, Mikhnevich achieved her greatest triumph when she won the Olympic gold medal in the shot put at the Sydney Games. She followed this up by winning the world championship in 2001. Her performance earned her the prestigious title of Merited Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus.
Personal Life
Mikhnevich is married to Vladimir Pralinski, a renowned Belarusian singer. She retired from competitive athletics in 2004 and has since focused on her family and other pursuits.
