Biography of Yaroslav Stakhovsky

Yaroslav Stakhovsky is a Ukrainian pop singer, actor, and TV host. He was born and raised in Ukraine and developed a passion for music from an early age. After attending a school of arts, Stakhovsky enrolled in a music college, where he formed his first independent punk band called "Mosquito in Chains" with his classmates. However, he left the band and the college after a year and joined the Kyiv Youth Theater.

While actively touring Ukraine and the CIS countries as an actor for a year, Stakhovsky realized that his true passion lay in music rather than acting. He made the decision to leave the theater and return to his music studies. In addition to his musical education, he also studied at an economics university.

Stakhovsky formed a new band called "Boundless" in the late 90s, transitioning from punk to dance music. The band gained recognition by winning the 'Nova Generation' music festival in 1998, competing against well-established groups like 'Okean Elzy'. They released their first music video, which became a major success on Ukrainian television.

From 1998 to 2000, "Boundless" actively performed concerts not only in Ukraine but also in Poland and Moldova. Despite their success, the band played their last concert on December 31, 1999. In 2000, Stakhovsky was invited to join a musical production called "XL" in Switzerland, where he traveled worldwide for two years with the show.

After the conclusion of his contract, Stakhovsky met Ukrainian arranger Matvei Vermienko, marking the beginning of their long and fruitful collaboration. In 2003, they worked together on a new album, which gained significant popularity with the release of a music video directed by acclaimed Russian director Andrey Novoselov.

In 2004, Stakhovsky released his debut album under the pseudonym 'StEX'. Over the next two years, he actively toured throughout Ukraine, promoting his album and performing in over 25 cities. In 2006, Stakhovsky was invited to join the legendary Russian pop group 'Na-Na' by Bari Alibasov. He spent two years with the group before deciding to pursue his solo career.

Since 2009, Stakhovsky has been performing under his own name. However, the name 'StEX' is still used by a show ballet group and an instrumental ensemble associated with him. Stakhovsky has been working on a new album, which will feature a collection of pop-rock compositions. He has already showcased his new project in Russia, Ukraine, and even China.
