Biography of Yoann Gourcuff
Yoann Gourcuff is a French football player currently playing for the French club 'Olympique Lyonnais'. He was born on July 11, 1986, in Ploemeur, Morbihan, Brittany, France, to a sporting family. His mother played basketball, his older brother was a professional swimmer and cyclist, and his father played football for several clubs in France, Switzerland, and Canada.

From a young age, Gourcuff showed talent in both football and tennis, but he decided to focus on football. He drew inspiration from the playing style of the Brazilian national team and watched their matches with his father. He tried to emulate the signature moves of Pelé.

Gourcuff's career began at the club 'Lorient', where his father was the coach at the time. He spent two years in the club's youth academy and played for the club's youth team in 2003. The following season, he played for the reserve team in the amateur championship of France, scoring two goals in 15 matches. In November 2003, Gourcuff signed his first professional contract and joined the main team of 'Rennes'. He made his professional debut on January 25, 2004, and his league debut on February 7. However, he spent most of the season on the bench.

In 2006, Gourcuff moved to the Italian club 'Milan' on a five-year contract, with the transfer costing the club €4.58 million. On May 31, 2008, it was announced that Gourcuff would be loaned to the French club 'Bordeaux' for the entire 2008-2009 season. The former captain of 'Milan', Paolo Maldini, later commented that Gourcuff lacked discipline and struggled to establish good relationships with his teammates.

However, Gourcuff quickly settled in at 'Bordeaux' and played in 37 league matches in his first season, surpassing his total number of league matches during his two years at 'Milan'. His performances attracted the attention of 'Milan' who expressed their desire to bring him back. 'Bordeaux' exercised their option to buy Gourcuff for €15 million. After brief negotiations, 'Milan' agreed to let Gourcuff go, and he joined 'Bordeaux' for €13.6 million.
Gourcuff continued to perform well during the 2009-2010 season. In 2010, he moved to 'Lyon', where he currently plays.
Gourcuff made his debut for the French national team at a young age. He played for the French under-17 team on September 18, 2002, against Spain. He scored his first international goal on February 5, 2003. He made his debut for the senior national team on August 20, 2008, in a friendly match against Sweden. Gourcuff continues to represent the French national team to this day.
