Biography of Yukta Mukhi

Yukta Mukhi is an Indian model and actress. She was born on October 7, 1979, in Mumbai, India. Her family originally hails from northern India, but Yukta and her parents lived in Dubai, Middle East, until she was seven years old, as her father worked there. In June 1986, they returned to Mumbai. Her father, Inderlal Mukhi, was the managing director of Ragz Clothing Company, a clothing manufacturing company. As a hobby, he dabbled in stock trading and was so successful at it that it eventually became his main occupation. Yukta's mother, Aruna Mukhi, manages a grooming salon called Swiss Chalet in Mumbai. She has a younger brother named Kanwal, who is an engineer.

Education and Career

In Mumbai, before participating in the Miss World beauty pageant, Yukta studied zoology at Vinayak Ganesh Vaze College of Arts, Science, and Commerce. In addition to her degree in zoology, she also has diplomas in computer science, fine arts (she studied painting for two years), and classical music from northern India.

Yukta is an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (Indian People's Party) and is actively involved in charitable and social projects. She gained public attention when she won the Femina Miss India title in 1999 and went on to win the Miss World title in London.

Acting Career

Yukta Mukhi made her first appearance on the silver screen in the Tamil film "Poovellam Un Vasam" in 2001. Her first major project in Bollywood was the 2002 film "Pyaasa," where she played the lead female role alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Zulfi Syed. In 2003, she was set to star in the film "Market" but had to drop out due to an injury. In 2006, Mukhi acted in the Bollywood comedy "Love In Japan," followed by the thriller "Kathputli." In 2008, she appeared in the drama "Memsahab - Lost In A Mirage."

Personal Life

On September 7, 2008, Yukta Mukhi announced her engagement to Prince Tulli, an American businessman and investment banker of Indian origin. They got married on November 2, 2008, in a traditional Sikh ceremony, followed by a grand reception in the evening. They have one child, a son.
