Early Life and Education
Oleksandr Mykhailovych Kutsenko was born in 1912. He graduated with honors from the road construction faculty of the Kharkiv Automobile and Road Institute (1933).
Academic Career at Kharkiv Automobile and Road Institute
From 1934 to 1941, Kutsenko served as a lecturer at the Kharkiv Automobile and Road Institute (KHADI). In 1936, he obtained his candidate degree under the scientific guidance of A.K. Birulya, becoming an assistant professor the same year.
Military Service
Kutsenko served in the Great Patriotic War.Founding of Kyiv Automobile and Road Institute
In 1944, Kutsenko founded the Kyiv Automobile and Road Institute (KADI). He served as its first director (rector) until 1959.
Government Roles
From 1959 to 1960, Kutsenko was the First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Ukrainian SSR. He then served as Minister from 1960 to 1973.
Return to Academic Life
From 1973 to 1991, Kutsenko worked as a professor in the Road Design Department at KADI.
