Biographical Profile of Yuriy Dimchoglo

Early Life and Education

Yuriy Dimchoglo, a prominent Ukrainian politician and public figure, was born in the Tomai village of the Moldavian SSR in 1980. He completed his secondary education at the Tomai Middle School in 1990.

Subsequently, Dimchoglo pursued higher education at the Komrat State University in Moldova, where he earned a degree in Law from 1990 to 1995. He furthered his education at the National University "Odesa Law Academy," obtaining a Master of Law degree in State Administration and International Law from 2007 to 2008.

Career in Business

Dimchoglo embarked on a business career in 1998 when he became Deputy Director of the joint venture "ASLES LTD" in Odessa. He went on to serve as Director of the same company from 2001 to 2003.

From 2003 to 2013, Dimchoglo was the Director and Founder of LLC "Bosforles" in Odessa. He later became General Director of LLC "Orlovka Ferry Complex" from 2013 to 2015.

Political Journey

Dimchoglo's political journey began in December 2012 when he was elected as a member of the Odessa Regional Council (VI convocation) from the "Strong Ukraine" party.

In 2014, he became the Chairman of the Odessa Regional Organization of the political party "OUR REGION." A year later, in 2015, he was elected as a member of the Odessa Regional Council (VII convocation) from the "OUR REGION" party.

During the 1st session of the Odessa Regional Council in November 2015, Dimchoglo was appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Council. He also joined the "OUR REGION" parliamentary faction in the council.

Contributions to Public and International Relations

Beyond politics, Dimchoglo has also played significant roles in public life and international relations. He is a co-author of the book "History of the Gagauz of Ukraine."

From 2009 to 2013, Dimchoglo served as Secretary of the Parliamentary Group for Interparliamentary Relations between Ukraine and the Turkish Republic within the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He was also a member of the Reform Club of Ukraine from 2011 to 2012.

In July 2018, Dimchoglo was elected Chairman of the Association of Gagauz Societies of Ukraine. This association brings together four Gagauz national and cultural organizations.

Role in Ukraine-Romania Relations

Dimchoglo has been a key figure in strengthening relations between Ukraine and Romania. He initiated the construction of a ferry crossing between Orlovka (Odesa region) and Isaccea (Romania), which became operational in 2020.

Recognition and Honors

Yuriy Dimchoglo's contributions to society have been recognized with several awards, including the Order "For Merit" of the III degree in 2017.
