Biography of Yuri Rybak

Yuri Rybak, a dancer, choreographer, and participant of the show "Dances on TNT Season 2," is not just a professional dancer, but a person who wholeheartedly dedicates himself to his calling. He was born on May 5, 1990, in Chisinau, where he still resides. At the age of 8, he first entered a dance studio. Rybak's mother was a passionate fan of ballroom dancing and dreamed of her sons becoming professional dancers. She initially enrolled her eldest son and then Yuri. The young boy resisted for a long time, considering dancing to be an unmasculine pursuit and dreaming of playing football or practicing karate. However, today he is grateful for his mother's determination.

Initially, Yuri Rybak simply observed the dancers and then tried to imitate their movements. The moment came when he was paired with the coach's daughter. The teenager's perception and attitude towards dance completely changed when Pavel Pasechnik joined their collective. Pasechnik became well-known throughout Europe. His smooth and graceful movements inspired Yuri Rybak to become like him. He started training twice as hard and honed his skills until he obtained the title of Master of Sports in ballroom dancing.

Alongside ballroom dancing, Yuri Rybak also received a massage therapist diploma and started working at a prestigious fitness club. However, he was hired there as a dance instructor for the "Fitness-Latina" program. His interest in hip-hop was sparked after conducting a freestyle dance class. Contemporary dance had always appealed to Rybak since childhood, but there was no opportunity to pursue it professionally in Chisinau, and he did not have the funds to travel abroad. It took him six years to reach his current level of preparation, despite having a classical dance background. Yuri recalls watching videos online, then playing music, standing in front of a mirror, and perfecting his movements.

"Dances on TNT" Show

The casting for the second season of "Dances on TNT," which Yuri Rybak attended, took place in Vladivostok. He was the only one among 10,000 dancers representing Moldova. Yuri performed a hip-hop dance to the composition "One In Million." Perhaps it turned out to be prophetic because the Moldavian made it into the chosen 150. On stage, Yuri showcased excellent flexibility, although one jump was unsuccessful. Egor Druzhinin asked him to repeat the attempt, and it was successful. The jury members deliberated for a long time, and in the end, Rybak became part of the project. When the mentors were forming their teams, Yuri Rybak was the first person mentioned by Egor Druzhinin. Choreographer Jonte spoke highly of the participant from Moldova in an interview with "HELLO" magazine, stating that he considered Rybak to be the most professional on the show. Yuri himself admitted that "Dances on TNT" was an opportunity to establish himself as a dancer. At home, he mostly works as a choreographer, which does not satisfy him.

Personal Life

Yuri is married, and little is known about his wife Alina. They have a two-year-old daughter growing up in their family. The dancer dedicated one of his performances on "Dances on TNT" to his daughter. Yuri Rybak regrets that he spends little time with his family and jokes that his wife will soon stop letting him come home. The "Dances on TNT" participant believes that his mood can be easily understood through dance. If he is sharp and swift on stage, it means he is nervous. If his movements are smooth and soaring, it means his mood is good. The dancer and choreographer confesses that he often suffers from creative depressions. In such moments, he tries not to dance or play music for 2-3 days to physically and mentally recover. Yuri dreams of one day visiting Los Angeles with his dance team "Pionery," where the best dance school is located. He believes that their group will go to America in the same lineup they started with - Yuri Rybak, Vova Khynka, and Mircey Palamar.
