Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine
Yuriy Stets is the former Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine and a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC). He was also elected to the Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian Parliament) in the 6th, 7th, and 8th convocations.
Education
- 1996: Graduated from Chernivtsi School of Culture with a degree in "folk art".
- 2009: Obtained a bachelor's degree in management from Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.
- 2011: Obtained a master's degree in management of foreign economic activity from Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.
Career
Journalism and Media- 1990-1992: Reporter at Chernivtsi Regional State Television and Radio Company.
- 1992: Editor at ICTV in Chernivtsi.
- 1992-1993: Editor at "TVA" television channel in Chernivtsi.- 1993-1997: PR manager at "Natan".
- 1997: Editor at "Niko - PR".
- 1997-2000: Editor of music programs at "NBM".
- 2000-2002: Deputy director at "NBM".
- 2002-2014: General producer at "Channel 5" (owned by NBM).
- 2005: General producer at "Express-inform" (concurrently).
- 2007: Director at "NBM-radio" (concurrently).
- 2007: Member of the Supervisory Board of Channel 5.
Political Career
- 2007-2012: Member of the Verkhovna Rada (6th convocation) from the "Наша Украина - Народна самооборона" bloc, serving as secretary and later chairman of the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information.
- 2012-2014: Member of the Verkhovna Rada (7th convocation) from the "Batkivshchyna" party, serving on the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information.
- 2014: Resigned from the Verkhovna Rada and joined the National Guard of Ukraine.
- 2014: Elected to the Verkhovna Rada (8th convocation) from the "Petro Poroshenko Bloc".
- 2014-2017: Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine in the second government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
- 2014-present: Member of the NSDC.
- 2015-2016: Chairman of the Council on Communications.- 2016: Retained his position as Minister of Information Policy in the government of Volodymyr Groysman.
