Yuriy Zabela: Ukrainian Politician and Former Regional Administrator

Early Life and Education

Yuriy Zabela was born on March 16, 1964, in the village of Varvarovka, Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine. He received a higher education in 1986 from the Zhytomyr Agricultural Institute (now Zhytomyr National Agroecological University), where he graduated as a zoological engineer.

Professional Career

Zabela's professional journey began in June 1981 as a laborer at the "Komsomolets" hops farm in the village of Varvarovka. After serving in the military, he worked as a zootechnician at the "XXV syezd KPSS" collective farm in the village of Rykhalske from December 1987.

From August 1989 to December 1992, Zabela held positions as chief zootechnician and deputy director of the "Kyiv" collective farm in the village of Makovyshche. Subsequently, he served as a gamekeeper at the Dubravo-Leninsky hunting farm from December 1992 to November 1995.

Political Career

Zabela's political career started in November 1995 when he became the head of the "Kyivske" agricultural enterprise in Makovyshche. He later served as the director of the "Kyivska" agro-industrial firm from October 2002 to December 2006. Zabela also held the position of deputy in the Makariv District Council.

In January 2007, Zabela became the chairman of the Makariv District State Administration. He was appointed as the acting chairman of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration on October 25, 2007, and officially as the chairman on November 1, 2007, by President Viktor Yushchenko. His term ended on March 18, 2010, when he was dismissed by President Viktor Yanukovych.

Throughout his political career, Zabela was a member of various political parties, including the Socialist Party of Ukraine, Our Ukraine, United Center, and the Party of Regions.

Personal Life

Zabela is married with two children: a son, Vladimir, who graduated from the Faculty of Law of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, and a daughter, Irina, who graduated from the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University.

Hobbies

Zabela enjoys hunting as a hobby.
