American Fitness Trainer without Legs

The story of popular American fitness trainer Zak Ruhl is sure to inspire and motivate anyone who is searching for excuses to avoid physical activity. Despite a rare bone condition that led to the deformity of his legs, 27-year-old Zak Ruhl has achieved remarkable success in bodybuilding and crossfit. Zak was born with fragile bones in his lower limbs, and in order to save his life, doctors had to amputate his legs when he was just two years old. His parents raised him as a normal, fully-abled child, not wanting him to pity himself or seek sympathy from others. Ignoring his disability, Ruhl not only led an active lifestyle but also pursued sports seriously. He has much more drive than an average person, and his passion is evident in his work and training methods.

A Mother's Influence

In a recent inspiring video, the 27-year-old fitness enthusiast shared how he achieved the seemingly impossible. Zak credited his mother for much of his success, as she never said "no" to him, even when he wanted to play football. From an early age, his mother ensured that Ruhl remained physically active. When doctors put casts on his legs, Zak's mother would place his bottle of milk just out of his reach, encouraging him to try reaching it on his own. Ruhl began his training while in middle school, and his initial workouts were challenging, both physically and mentally. When he entered the gym in his wheelchair, his trainers were shocked and initially refused to work with him. They feared that a student with limited physical abilities would injure himself, and they would be held responsible. However, Zak went on to become one of the best in his school, leading the school's weightlifting records for several years. At a body weight of 70 kg, Ruhl also set a national record for bench pressing, lifting 204.57 kg.

Inspiring Others through Crossfit

What this incredible athlete achieves today, despite facing significant health challenges, is beyond the capabilities of many able-bodied professionals. With his strength and perseverance, Ruhl encourages others with disabilities who need both physical and spiritual improvement to engage in sports. Zak teaches a comprehensive discipline known as crossfit, which includes elements from weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, and more. This system was created by Greg Glassman and registered by the corporation "CrossFit." Ruhl's students acknowledge that he is a tough trainer, but it is precisely this approach that helps people with health issues achieve incredible results. Zak understands the emotions that plague individuals with disabilities, who often feel lost and scared to spend their lives in a wheelchair. He strives to convey to his students that self-pity and sympathy from others are their main enemies. He also emphasizes the importance of not allowing anyone to convince them that they are incapable of achieving something. This star fitness trainer firmly believes that everything is in their hands, and opportunities for growth exist in any condition. He urges them to move towards their goals and not listen to the negative voices around them. In fact, Ruhl even offers some individuals the opportunity to train with him for free at the CrossFit gym in Houston, Texas.
