Biography of Zacky Vengeance
Zacky Vengeance, the guitarist of the American band Avenged Sevenfold, gained his nickname "Vengeance" because he wanted to seek revenge on all those who doubted his success. He also came up with the nickname "Johnny Christ" for the band's bassist, in honor of Danzig guitarist John Christ.
Formation of Avenged Sevenfold
In the official DVD of the band, All Excess, it was revealed that Zacky was part of a group called MPA, which stood for Mad Porno Action. However, this idea did not work out well. He then formed a new band with M. Shadows, originally called Successful Failure, before settling on the name Avenged Sevenfold. Zacky came up with the acronym "A7X" and designed the entire imagery and branding of the group. Although many mistakenly believe that he also came up with the Deathbat logo, this is not true.
Early Musical Endeavors
At the age of 13, Zacky taught himself to play the guitar. Despite being left-handed, his first instrument was a right-handed guitar that his parents bought him for his thirteenth birthday. He learned to play by flipping the instrument and emulating his favorite bands. Zacky avidly read every issue of Guitar World, studied tablatures, and watched guitar masters in action. His favorite bands include Pantera, Metallica, Elixir, and Guns'N'Roses.
Other Ventures
Before Avenged Sevenfold, Zacky pursued baseball professionally while attending college. If it weren't for the band, he would have been a professional baseball player. He also launched a clothing line called "Vengeance University," featuring t-shirts, hoodies, and belts. Most, if not all, items from the "Vengeance University" brand are marked with the signature logos "6661" and "V.U." Additionally, he has a sister named Zina Pacheto (née Baker) and a brother named Matt Baker, who plays in the band Dear & Departed.
Personal Life
Zacky is currently in a relationship with Gena Paulhus and they frequently attend various events together. He is a left-handed guitarist, although his first guitar was right-handed. He has a dog named Ichabod Crane Vengeance. Apart from his musical pursuits, he has a great passion for horror movies and anything related to the genre.
