Early Life and Education

Born and raised in Brno, Czech Republic, the subject of this biography graduated from Masaryk University in Brno in 1993 with a law degree.

Academic Career

In 1992, he joined the Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science at Masaryk University as a lecturer. In 2009, he was promoted to associate professor.

Legal Practice and Politics

From 1996 to 2006, he practiced law while also teaching at the university. During this time, he served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic from 1999 to 2006.

Prosecution Career

In 2006, he was appointed a prosecutor in the Office of the General Prosecutor. He served as Deputy General Prosecutor from 2006 to 2011 and as Deputy Director of the Academy of Justice in Kroměříž from 2011 to 2014.

Academic Leadership

From 2014 to 2018, he served as rector of the Karel Engliš University in Brno.
