Education and International Experience

Aitzhanova holds degrees from Kazakh State University, KazNU, and MSU. She has also undertaken internships at Charles University and Central European University, as well as graduating from the United Nations International Vienna Institute and Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is fluent in English and Czech.

Aitzhanova has held positions with the United Nations in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and New York. She has been involved in programs for the UN Development Program (UNDP) and served as Vice-Minister of Industry and Trade in Kazakhstan.

Ministerial and Ambassadorial Roles

From 2005 to 2011, Aitzhanova facilitated Kazakhstan's negotiations to join the World Trade Organization. She then served as Minister of Economic Development and Trade from 2010 to 2011.

In 2011, Aitzhanova was appointed as the first Minister for Economic Integration of Kazakhstan. In 2016, she became Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva.
